Have you ever been told to brace your core or contract the abs, but get frustrated because you’re not exactly sure how to make that connection? It can be confusing to brace because you may get confused by sucking in or pushing out the stomach. We help you find the sweet spot between these two so that you can properly contract your abs in order to get the most out of your ab exercises!
Bracing is extremely important because it protects your back in many upper body and lower body exercises. It will help to protect that natural curvature of the spine by keeping the core tight and not letting pressure/tension compress certain parts of the spine when adding weight. It is also very important in all core exercises like planks, otherwise you are just going through the motions of the exercise, but not actually get the most out of your core. Once you understand how to brace your core in these ab exercises you will feel the muscles working and get the most muscle engagement.
