Follow this push-up progression to get foolproof results. We guide you through each step and each progression you need to take so you can work your way up. After you master each step you will be on your way to a push-up in no time.
The first progression is to start on your knees, because you don’t have to push up as much body weight as you would on your toes. This movement will help you build strength while achieving a good range of motion until you are strong enough to move to the next progression.
The second progression is an eccentric push-up. During this movement you are slowly controlling yourself to the floor to strengthen your muscles in the lengthened position. You come all the way to the floor and then put your knees down to get yourself back up.
The last progression is to work on your push-ups using an elevated surface. Build your way up to lower and lower surfaces until you are on the floor and you’ve got yourself your first push-up my friend!
